How Do I Become A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)?
The answer to this question will vary from state to state in the usa and with other countries, I can still discuss some ideas on how the process goes toward becoming a CNA.
Enrol in a certified nursing assistant training program through an accredited training college to get the best training. The period to complete the training will vary from around three to nine months or as much two years, depending on what state you are in and your previous experience. But the more broad the training is the better abilities and knowledge you'll acquire.
Another option would also be training for a CNA in a healthcare facility, which you can also work for soon. They offer the proper training for a CNA which you can clearly be part of.
As part in the training, you will be asked to work in a health facility for your on-site skills exercise. By completing the CNA training at some sort of healthcare facility, you will be able to achieve your on-site skills training together with having the opportunity of commencing work in the facility while awaiting for the consequence of your CNA certification exam.
Some facilities can allow you to work without being certified, but this will ensure a lower salary than if you had the accreditation.
In other words, you actually have two possibilities on how to become a CNA, first, finding a nursing school that delivers a CNA training program or second would be acquiring the training via a healthcare facility.

After completing your training, you will be fully equipped to take the CNA exam or what is commonly called the National Nurse Aid Assessment Program (NNAAP), as administered by the American Red Cross in north america (applies to US residents only). The exam include a written test and actual clinical examinations to judge your CNA skills.
Brief examples of the data and skills you will obtain through exercise are:
Being able to build proper rapport with patients through strong communication abilities
Right technique when assisting patients in changing positions and ambulation
Providing personal hygiene for patients
Infection control options
How to assess patients' well-being (i. g. taking vital signs)
The first the main exam is the written test and will test you on practical and theory doubts. The second part of the exam is a skills demonstration where you will perform 5 abilities. Passing all will ensure a successful exam result.
By carrying out your training together with successfully passing the exam, you will be on well your way to becoming a certified nursing assistant.
